The 3 bedrooms and 2 and a half bathrooms are great for couples or the entire family, the cottage can sleep up to a maximum of 6 persons. The cottage has been built from traditional timber weather board. The interior features, solid timber floors, raked timber ceilings and is fully appointed to a very high standard. How to get there
PLEASE NOTE: If you are using satellite navigation to get to Russell you will need to do this in 2 steps as most navigation systems do not cater for the ferry crossing from Opua to Okiato.
Step 1: Please take State Highway 1 from Auckland to Kawakawa, then take Highway 10 (Paihia Road) to Beechy Street in OPUA.
You will now be required to travel across by car ferry from Opua to Okiato, you will not need to book the car ferry simply turn up as they run every 10 minutes from 6.40am (Okiato side) until 9.50pm from Opua, you will board this side - please make sure you have cash as they do not take credit, debit cards or EFTPOS, best to get a return ticket as it is slightly cheaper around $22.00.
Step 2: Enter the address of your holiday home as detailed below once you have departed the car ferry in Okiato. Please contact us on 0274 416-378 or (09) 403-7188 as you depart the Fullers Car Ferry at the Okiato side at this point we will give you clear instructions where to meet us so we can take you to the property.
Check-in time is not prior to 3pm (unless previously arranged) on the afternoon of your arrival this is to allow cleaners to prepare the house for your arrival. All arrivals after 8pm in the evening will incur a late arrival fee of $75.00 unless prior arrangements have been made**

Bay of Islands Holiday Accommodation was started in 2005 and has been operating in immediate Russell area, we are specialists in Holiday Vacation Homes in Russell. We strive to offer a professional friendly service to enable guests to source and secure their specific holiday home by working with them and the property owners. We provide a selection of QUALMARK endorsed, Executive/Luxury, Family Accommodation and Bed & Breakfast options that cater for those who seek - PEACE OF MIND AT HOLIDAY TIME. BOIHA manages all payment of deposit’s and balance payment’s via a secure online booking system which ensures guests funds as safe - we hold guests money in a dedicated Trust Account until after the booking, then the monies are forwarded to the property owner. There has always been a risk booking a private holiday home for short term rental, as it is difficult to be sure of what guests will get and it's normal for the private owners to take money in advance. It is not safe to send money by cheque or direct credit to private owners directly. Payment by credit card with BOIHA will give guests and property owners some protection. Over the past 25 years Lesley and Barry have travelled for pleasure and business to many places around the world, however for them the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, is home. Lesley comes from a background of sales and marketing. Barry is a qualified joiner/carpenter and has worked in the building industry for over 40 years of which 19 plus years have been at a senior management level. For 4 years Lesley and Barry jointly managed a luxury lodge in Russell, where the guests comfort, needs and privacy was paramount. We are honest, reliable, and enthusiastic and wish guests and property owners to experience the Bay of Islands at its best. Deposit Requirements
A deposit of 30% is payable at the time of confirmation. All payments by credit card are charged in New Zealand Dollars only and will incur a Credit Card surcharge of 2.5%. The balance of the price of the cost of your stay must be paid at least 30 day/s before your arrival date (or at the time of booking if this date has passed). If the balance is not paid in time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit paid. Once all parties have accepted a booking confirmation, any requests to alter dates already confirmed are subject to approval by BOIHA and the property owner. Changes to confirmed bookings will incur an administration fee of NZ$. BOIHA will acknowledge all amendments/changes/cancellations in writing.
Cancellation Policy
If, after our confirmation has been issued, you wish to change or in any way alter your booking, we will do our utmost to make the changes, provided that notification is received in writing from the group leader, at least 30 days before the arrival date. Cancellation of booking by you: You, may cancel your booking at any time providing that the cancellation is made by the group leader and is communicated to us in writing. As this incurs administrative costs, we may levy cancellation charges as shown below. All cancellations will incur a 2.5% credit card transaction fee. 30 day/s or less before arrival - Cancellation charge is 100% of the total booking cost 60 day/s or less before arrival - Cancellation charge is 30% of the total booking cost Failure to arrive with no prior cancellation advice will result in forfeiture of the full booking cost. No cancellations are accepted upon, during or after the day of arrival.

Minimum stay: Christmas/New Year 19 Dec – 9 Jan minimum 7-night stay at all times. Shoulder and Low season - 2 or 3 night minimum night stay period on non-holiday season times as specified for each property. ALL NZ public holidays will be charged at the peak tariff and have minimum stay periods. Shorter stays by negotiation based on spaces between existing bookings and last minute requests. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
