Excellent! Away from tourist throngs.
My husband and I have been at My Dream for one month. It is a beautiful property, with well appointed, quiet rooms. When we first arrived the resort had only a few guests since it was just as they were conducting their soft opening. Despite a full crowd at this date, we still find this resort very quiet and peaceful. One wouldn't know that they are fully booked now except for the many faces at their buffet breakfast which is very well done. The grounds consist of tiered housing and beautiful gardens that stretch down to the Nam Khan River. The staff and management are very attentive to the guests' needs, incredibly pleasant, and also helpful in aiding in the arrangement of small trips. If you want a quiet, restful place away from the crowds, this is it!

Very nice looking and quiet, needs improvement.
We stayed from 19-25 Dec 2011 in a classic room. The rooms are very nice with natural materials like wooden furniture and floor and very clean. The location is quiet (except of noise of old bridge), only a 15-minute walk to the town using the bamboo bridge.
It was just opened Nov. 2011 and there are many things which are not 3-star level yet: A) the bathroom has an open shower, so that the entire floor gets wet: B) no heating in the rooms and only thin blankets provided (after a freezing night we got better blankets); C) it is a pity you must eat the excellent breakfast while freezing, because it is served in an open room D) people in neighbouring rooms can be heard; E) it happened that nobody was at the reception and all room keys were accessible for everybody; F) the English of many of the staff is poor such that it is difficult to order non-common things (like e.g. omelet WITHOUT ham).

We had popped across the bamboo bridge to check out a bar/restaurant and ended up walking past this place while we were wondering around the village, we we looking for somewhere to stay so we decided to have a look around an even though it was slightly over our budget we were so won over by Evelyn and the rest of the staff there and how beautiful the place was we ended up booking in for 4 nights! We have stayed in lots of places in South East Asia over the past couple of months and a few in Luang Prabang and this honestly exceeded all of them in surroundings, service and value for money! There is breakfast included which is a buffet and they will go out of their way to make sure u have everything u need! Also we loved the free bikes to use too, we used them nearly everyday and it takes 5 minutes to get into town with them! If you are looking for a bit of luxury, amazing service and somewhere off the beaten track but not too far from town then this is it! Thank you so much for our stay and we would love to come back one day!! L + B x

Peaceful, friendly, relaxing!
New, comfortable, clean, helpful staff... All the rest.
The one thing that I loved about this place was its location. It's just across the Nam Khan river located amongst the local houses. There is a bamboo bridge (built by hand every year after the wet season) that allows you access to the main town with a 10 min stroll. This beautiful location allows you the benefit of proximity to the town, but the peace and quite away from the (few) touts and traffic, as well as a glimpse into daily life in LP as you walk to/from town.

Excellent Property at a Moderate Price
We arrived in Luang Prabang with a two day advance hotel booking and spent the time covering all boutique hotel properties within three kilometers of town center. My Dream was then in a 'soft opening' which started November 1, and we booked a bungalow for a month. We have not been disappointed. Mr. Somnuek Bounsa is an exceptional owner/director, with some 20 years experience from wait staff to manager of a larger resort. His ever present Manager, Ms. Evelyn Napier, is a high energy attorney and employment rights specialist from Toronto. They not only make an excellent team, but are very interesting individuals in their own right. This boutique property has 19 units, most of which have views across their gardens and down directly to the Nam Khan River. One has peace and solitude but is also within ten minutes of town center across the bamboo bridge. The wait staff is well trained, enthusiastic and very pleasant. An exceptional value for those not seeking high end resorts.
