We (John and Lesley Wykes) offer a wooden holiday log cabin / lodge, nestling amongst trees in spectacular Galloway "DARK SKIES" countryside. (South West Scotland). The holiday cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 double (1 with en-suite facilities) and 1 twin. The rooms have fitted mirrored wardrobes. We have made the lodge a comfortable, self-catering "home from home" for guests to enjoy. Our small woodland is rich in bird life and red squirrels. The detached log cabin, which will comfortably accommodate 6 people, is 3 miles from Lochinvar and St. John's Town of Dalry and within easy reach of market towns and solway coast beaches. The cabin is available to rent for periods upwards of 3 nights. The cabin is lavishly equipped with tv, dvd, video and cd player together with a wide selection of viewing and listening materials and has a wood burning stove, electric heating and double glazing for cozy winter breaks. This is a single, detached holiday cabin for short term rental, within it's own fenced land. It is not on a site and is situated on one side of a picturesque valley, ideal for discovering Galloway and South West Scotland. This is a quiet, rural location, with stunning views. The lodge has a private, spring water supply providing pure, clear water with an ultra-violet purification system to guarantee that there will be no fluctuations in quality. This is a unique and spectacular area famous for its "Dark Skies" forest park. The cabin is a spotlessly clean, 4 star "home from home" with all equipment and a very generous welcome pack. We have recently built a new house in the field to the north of the lodge but this does not in any way detract from the seclusion of the cabin. We are close by if any help or information are required and are more than willing to do what we can to make our guest's stay provide a generous, complimentary welcome pack with local venison, wine, bread and basic requirements. We'll be happy to receive Tesco deliveries for our guests prior to arrival. Arrangements can be made for special occasions to ensure a holiday to remember. Lesley is delighted to help with any requests or surprises.

We are in the heart of the beautiful Glenkens area of the Galloway Southern uplands with unspoilt views of the hills. The region is never busy even at the height of the tourist season yet there is plenty to do. John can take you for wildlife spotting trips through our local forestry or you can have a day at the seaside or shopping in one of the many surrounding towns. We are close to towns, villages, beaches, hills and forests. Ideal for stargazing, photography, cycling (on the Southern Upland Way or "7 Stanes") walking, climbing, fishing. Ideal peaceful, secluded, honeymoon destination.

To reserve your booking we ask that you pay 25% of the total cost of your stay (non-refundable) plus £50 damage deposit which will be returned in full to you immediately following departure except in the unlikely event of any deductions having to be made.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation: If unforeseen circumstances require you to cancel within two weeks of start, then 50% of the total cost will be payable unless we are able to re-let.
Additional Information
The balance of cost is due 4 weeks before arrival. We confirm booking and send travel directions upon receipt of payment. Cheques should be made payable to "John Wykes". Arrival and departure times are not important unless others are leaving or arriving on the same day. In that case we would ask that you arrive after 4:00 pm and depart by 10:00 am. Prices include all fuel - gas, electricity and logs (for the wood burning stove). Towels and bedding are provided - beds will be made up and the lodge will be heated for your arrival. Although most bookings will be per week, we can be flexible. Minimum stay is usually 3 nights, but a 2 night break may be possible if it falls between charge for under 5's, discounts for 5 - 10's and over 60's, 10% discount for 2 weeks or more.
